Welcome to Jamie Blanchette Counselling

Professional Counselling Services with Jamie Blanchette, RSW

A supportive, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can feel safe to explore life’s challenges at your own pace. Together, we will work to better understand your experiences, gently untangle what feels overwhelming, and reconnect with your inner resilience.

Drawing thoughtfully from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), we may explore how thoughts, emotions, and behaviours are interconnected. This work will guild you to notice patterns that no longer serve you and develop more balanced, supportive ways of responding to life’s challenges.

Through a collaborative and respectful approach, we will create a path toward greater emotional well-being, clarity, and a sense of lasting calm. You don’t have to navigate this alone; this is a space where you can feel heard, supported, and empowered to move forward in a way that feels right for you.

With a focus on collaboration and emotional safety, Jamie works alongside you to help build insight, strengthen coping strategies, and foster resilience.

I hold an Honours Bachelor’s Degree and have completed Indigenous Studies as part of my academic journey, which has helped shape my understanding of history, identity, and the ongoing impacts of colonization.

I am certified in Indigenous Cultural Safety through the IPHCC, and I strive to provide care that is respectful, culturally aware, and mindful of the impacts of historical and ongoing oppression. I am committed to creating a space where clients feel seen, heard, and valued in the fullness of their identities.

I believe that healing is not about fixing what is broken, but about rediscovering your inherent strengths and building a life that feels aligned with who you are.

The goal of counselling is to support you in creating meaningful change and improving overall well-being, while helping you move through life’s challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and balance.

Common Questions

What can I expect in our first session?

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other in a comfortable, supportive space. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to counselling, your goals, and any questions or concerns you may have. I’ll also explain how sessions work, including confidentiality and what you can expect moving forward. There’s no pressure to share everything at once; this is your time, and we’ll go at a pace that feels right for you.

Sessions are offered virtually, allowing you to access supportive counselling from anywhere across Ontario in a way that is convenient and private.

I provide receipts after each session, which may be submitted to your benefits provider if applicable.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies depending on your unique situation and goals. Some clients find clarity in a few meetings, while others prefer ongoing support. We will regularly check in to evaluate your progress.

Is our work together confidential?

Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of professional counselling. Everything we discuss is kept private, within the legal and ethical boundaries of practice in Ontario, which we will review together.

How do I know if we are a good fit?

The therapeutic relationship is vital for your success. During our first few sessions, we can evaluate if my approach and style align with your needs. If not, I am happy to help you find a practitioner who is a better match.
